Guai a chi la tocca.
Hello, I am a current participant in the JET program, working as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) and living in a small town in the Shiga prefecture of Japan. It is a very interesting place nestled in the mountains and home of Biwa-ko, Japan`s largest lake. I am but a few minutes drive from clear mountain rivers, a 600 year old temple forgotten by most local residents, and ancient forests where monkeys and bears roam. All of this and yet I am only a mere hour and fifteen minutes from the bustling city of Kyoto. It is a truly amazing place, and I feel very lucky to have been placed here.
I have a BA in history from the University of Georgia. I have done a lot of world traveling. I love taking photographs, mostly botanical in nature. You can visit my casual amateur photography gallery at deviantART here.
I have an unexplainable obsession with T.E. Lawrence of Arabia and a love affair with the world, green whispering leaves and warm sunlight.
I know this all sounds very serious but really I'm a laid back, silly person with a broad sense of humor. I'm dating a blue-eyed Northern Irish boy I met here in Japan. I play WoW, collect books, sleep for ungodly amounts of time, and am prone to laziness. Nice to meet you. Feel free to friend me to hear of my adventures in Japan. : )
